If I wear scaves....

Living in the middle of nowhere may have its disadvantages and one of them is that we have the same weather all year long.. well almost it may change from hot and dry to hot and rainy, cool ain't it?.. NOT! I know you may think I'm crazy but I ADORE having 4 seasons, transitions and cold... for me is endless mix and matching of layers plus nice options of accessories...
Anyways, I recently found some really...REALLY cool carrés that I would loooooove to buy and wear! French designer Philippe Roucou has released a line of 100% silk scarves based around Polaroid found art. For those unfamiliar with the term, that means the Polaroid photos were simply found at random - perhaps on the street, in a garage sale, etc - and in almost all cases the artist is unknown.... and even though this can be worn in cold/hot/chill/whatever weather I just needed to get out of my system the fact that I miss winter!

If I were Inspired....

I would make these Gabriel Dawe installations the main inspiration on my mood board. Not only for some sort of textile design/experiment and interesting silhouette that can be developed due to thread manipulation but moreover for the color transition and blend.. it makes me think of spring/summer washed out patterns, hazy prints, plays on transparency, watercolor effects, barely there prints... Yup.. I can picture it already...

If I were Alexander Wang...

I would definitely be crazy as hell and thanks to that would be able to create amazing things! such as these spring 2011 bags! ... aren't they just to die for????? This is how "basics" should look like in every girl's closet.. 'nough said.

If I were Inspired....

This song makes me think of a vintage postcard sent from Tuscany during the late 60's early 70's... maxi silk dresses... platform shoes... over-sized sunglasses... over-sized hats... a very laid back summer vacation ...

If I wear wedges...

As you may know wedges are a must this season and I reckon it will stay that way for the next season as well... I just love how bold and funky they are, and for my luck I recently discovered Jeffrey Campbell, a L.A.-based shoe label that has the coolest wedges (and shoes in general for that matter) with affordable prices... I love the color, I love the texture the straps create.. I just love the idea of how beautiful they would look on my feet..

It would be with the amazing FINSK wedges! ... can I die now and go to shoe heaven just to have these babies?

I'm pretty sure it would make me feel like THE coolest girl ever!. This LA-based label is all about edgy/sassy/vintage-inspired clothes that makes me want to buy the complete collection. I love the basics with a cool twist that are easy to mix and match just to spice up any girl's closet... Here are some of the pics from fall 2010 and spring 2011...

If I wear Balloons / Si usara globos

It's been exactly 1 year since I moved back to my tiny country. I know I haven't been posting for more than 9 months but I'll try to sum it in few words: It's been bumpy but finally I can honestly say that I'm happy with what I'm doing and where I'm doing it, although there's a thought hunting me even in my dreams. Yes, I literally dream every other day of going back to Europe.. weird ain't it? But enough said about that now lets make this a happy/fun post, that's why I decided to dig into the posts I'd written back in the days and update it a bit.
What can make a post even funner than fashion AND balloons?! I'm as crazy about fashion as I'm for balloons (and bubbles for that matter) maybe its the round shape, the elastic/shinny material, the fact that it can be made into different shapes or it can be used to create textures...just like this this amazing Asian artist I found does, Rie Hosokai, who is a world-renowned expert in balloon fashion... I think the result its an amazing look, silouhette and aesthetics.

It would be, without a doubt, with Samantha Cole's Warrior Collection! Why? Well.. Why wouldn't it be? After looking at her S/S 2010 lookbook, I was just speechless. The silhouette. The materials. The construction. The futuristic-meets-dominatrix mood. The styling. The whole look! J'ADORE, I LOVE AND I WANT! Now I understand why she was awarded best Fashion Designer during the New York S/S 09 Fashion Week

If I were on a shopping spree / Si estuviera en una expedición de comprás

Today, I woke up feeling amazingly happy which made me want to go shopping!... but unfortunately the city where I live isn’t able to satisfy those unexpected shopping cravings. I’m not in the middle of the jungle and we light, cars and internet and yes don’t worry we also have iPhones and BlackBerries.. Thank God for that!

So I went on a fantasy shopping spree. Yes, fantasy, not only because it would be a more than $3,000 OUTFIT but because this kind of merchandise, or any for that matter, wouldn’t make it through the mail :S.. how sad right?!? Anyways, I’m feeling very tropico and rrrrrumba which made me think of ruffles and a rainbow color mix. I feel these garments match my mood! Bright combinations and big contrasts!!!! And if you are wondering where the tights and coats are, well let me tell you the tinny tropical country is always waaarm!

I would be looking hot, feminine and amazing !! The spring/summer 10 collection the label launched has a simple silhouette mixed-up with more than interesting prints and colors which make the garments desirable and become my new craving!

I would be Baptist Viry, a young Parisian designer who launched his second accessories collection et qui en plus has 26 year-old and already who works for Hermès, a lucky guy ain't he?...All I can say is that I'm feeling and loving the well-redefined military look !!!! Seems that if designers keep on redefining it, I'll keep on loving it!

After trying to get things together for a while, here it is ,finally!.. Casual Goddess, my first mini collection inspired on the prints of the fabrics, the tropico weather and the chic Mediterranean style. Its a limited collection therefore, there are only 2 garments per size and per style and really few belts that are also designed by me... we'll see if Salvadoran women dare to feel free and fresh during the casual afternoon get-together.

Today, thanks to a picture I took at the beginning of summer, I realized I’m being hunted by the same group of colors because I’ve been unconsciously picking the same tones for inspiration but in different presentation and I just realized it!... I'm loving that minty color by the way!....This is the picture I like the most, some of the buttons that caught up my attention out of 2 bottles PACKED of old, new, plastic, metal, wooden buttons.. you do the math of the time I spent picking them out...

If I wear a classic / Si usara un clásico

For those of you who can’t picture shopping in El Salvador I’ll try to explain it to you realistically in few word: Its the W-O-R-S-T! and not because “yuck! other people are going to be wearing the same things as I am, and since it’s a small city, we’re going run into each other out there in the street so I’m going to go shopping abroad” but because the only immediate and descent option to satisfy a shopping craving on this side of the pond is Zara, which by the way is not completely the same as Europe. The rest?? is HORRIBLE!!!! HIDEOUS! I mean really! Me, a person who doesn’t care about brands but colors, shapes, styles and just options to mix and match the only thing I found in the middle of this… boring jungle was a little black dress!!!!!!!!!!!! PICTURE MY SITUATION PLEASE!!!... Houston, we have a problem…but I’m on it, if you know what I mean, so I’m not freaking out… but this is what I found: a chiffon black dress, a classic I said to myself, but it was just too long and just too boring to wear it by itself so what better way to improve the look than to add up a bold belt… so here is the result…

While I was living in Spain my sister introduced me to these amazing basic/casual shoes that come in the complete rainbow color range, definitely the new Converse but in 9 euros. The brand is Victoria, they have made the crossover from the granny crowd to the young and hip crowd, they are the Keds of Spain.

Now that I’m on the other side of the pond, few or better said almost no one wears this kind of shoe!!!! But what is my surprise today?!?!?! Walking down a mall I rarely go to, I see this bran that was really popular while I was younger: CHIC by Velinda! is the Salvadorian and 5 DOLAR version of the Victoria AND Keds!!!!!!!!! I saw them I got them because I didn’t have the all black version.

For me they’re like the little black dress in a casual/Sunday outfit way! So here are the shoes and the looks they would go perfect with.
