If I were my sister…

Spring is definitely here! Some of us are eager to start wearing lighter clothes and some have already started. But to be honest what I can’t wait is for me to spend endless days under the sun and on top the sand… heaven?.
Usually we bring along our best friends or a book to kill the time… but I think while we become tanned goddesses, we can start preparing ourselves for next winter!… Yes, what you just read. Be part of the new trend and bring along some needles and cool thick yarns so you can start doing some stuff for this winter. My sister came up with this idea not long ago, so if I was my sister I would start knitting NOW if I want to have something ready for late fall.

I would do a round scarf, which I think are going to be big this winter. I would do them that big that they would go around the neck up to 5 times, to give a layer feeling. And round so you could also wear it like a cool bolero
I would also make myself some extra, extra… EXTRA long mittens to wear them crunched during fall with short-sleeve tops. And I would do some long necklaces to use during the whole season!

If I were on a designers-olny fantasy shopping spree

The idea of the harem pants wouldn’t go away from my mind and started thinking on how would I wear them at night, because I think these pants you can wear them both day and night depending on how you wear them. Even though is not the same pair of pants I used on the previous post, it might give you some idea on how to mix and match your clothes. So this time I decided to go on a designers-only fantasy shopping spree, since is a fantasy I can spend as much as I want right?.

I found a Cropped crystal tulle vest by Derercuny BUT instead of the black tank-top I would wear it with white!!!!!!, a Gerogette Belt Pack Trousers by Ann Demeulemeester and some amazing Chloë violet sandals.

If I were on a fantasy shopping spree…

So today I decided I was going to go on a fantasy shopping spree but with one thing in mind: harem pants, they are THE garment for this summer (hmm or maybe for this year?), you can get them in knit or a light wool for summer. Its true that when you see them in the shop, you might wonder how can you wear them?. With some help from my daily partner, Photoshop, I did some mix and match to give you some ideas how I would wear them…

P.S: Have a Happy Easter / Feliz Semana Santa / Buona Pasqua / Joyeuses Pâques!!!!!!! See you all after!

If I were a stylist…

For those who don’t know me, I used to have medium to long hair for such a long time before I saw the light at the end of the boring tunnel and discover the fabulous world of the short hair, where you can have a bit more fun styling it. Its true that short hair is not for everyone, but I’m on a mission: finding a new hair cut.
So, while I was doing some research, Playmobil and Lego people came to my mind!. They have a particular removable hair made out of plastic, therefore is stiff AND shinny, so cool!.

There is something about them that captivated me and made me think of a really cool idea for a haircut, which I'm still defining, but it also made me think of photo shoot mood!!!!!.
I’m thinking over-sized, plastic, hard, shinny wigs and hats on an almost mannequin-looking, shinny, white skin mmmmm some really structured/geometric-shaped clothes. I’m thinking short blazers with big shoulder pads! :-) and loooots of plastic, plastic, plastic!...

If I wear sequins…

I don’t know why before I would relate sequins with tacky or with an over-done outfit and would wear them exclusively at night, if I ever did… but lately I’ve found myself having dreams and fantasies about sequins on garments!!! sequins and more sequins!!!!!!! I would LOOOOOOVE to have some with the tiny, little, matte sequins in a really, really light grey…

So to “make my dream come true” I decided to do some outfits... I think sequins can turn a simple outfit in to a chic, different outfit..

P.S.: I’ve moved places and aaaall of my drawing kits are in boxes, far away from where I am now :(… I wish I could have had them with me to do these outfits… oh well…. Tant pis!

If I wear a high-end designer’s summer outfit today….

I’m the kind of girl who thinks that it doesn’t matter the brand of what you wear as long as you have a personal style, its ok to buy what ever you want, where ever you want to buy it.

But from time to time, I have to admit, there’s some designer’s garments I would LOVE (eh and dream obviously) to own. And since I’m about to go on a trip, I’ve been thinking constantly what would I wear? and how would I wear it? That’s how my new favorite Latino designer came up to my mind. The young Colombian designer, Esteban Cortazar, has been in charge of giving a whole new fresh look to the collections chez Emanuel Ungaro, since the launch of his first collection in F/W 08/09

I absolutely love the simple mix of the chic skirt and the casual t-shirt. I think it gives it a funky contrast, easy-chic look that I could wear during the day with this Thong-strap wrap sandal from Urban Outfitters.

Or if I want to keep on dreaming, I would wear it up with this Alexander McQueen’s amazing open toes and open back short leather boots.

Again, I just looooove the idea of those items all together... *sigh*

P.S.: If you have time, read about the S/S 09 prints inspiration Esteban Cortazar.. such a looooovely story!!!

If I were Kandinsky…

I remember the first time I heard about Wassilly Kandinsky, it was on the early years of my college education as a Graphic Designer. We studied his Point and Line to Plane (1926) theory. But it seemed that the more I read about him and looked at his work, the more I felt related to his color fascination.

Not long ago I was going over his work, again, and I noticed the title of one if his pieces “Yellow – red – blue” (1925) it made me think right away: PRIMARY COLORS, obviously. So I started brainstorming “if I was Kandinsky and I wanted to create a fashion line, what would I do?” And I came up with the idea of getting inspired on the today’s printing principle: Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, Black (CMYK) and the result of the mix of them.

And so I did!… this is a little screened t-shirt collection for kids. I wanted something playful, clean and simple just like “On white II” (1923). I even thought about the brand’s name: “CaMdYnsKy”

If I wear a 90’s-inspired garment…

I would wear THIS maillot by Insight, which reminds me of how cool and different where the 90’s cuts and colors, so cool and unexpected contrasts!!

And to finish up the look, I would wear it with the classic Reebok Hi-Tops in Red

I just loooove the idea of the two of them together…

If I were a Lego…

Even though I’m not a big Lego fan, bad experiences go back when I was little kid: Lego, patience and me weren’t the best mix, I think Legos WERE and ARE just cool! and now they’ve gone on a whole different category: cool AND wearable! The one piece I’ve fallen in love with and would definitely wear is this Pixelated-heart Lego Pin by Dee and Ricky Jackson, the duo who worked with Marc by Marc Jacobs for the S/S 08. It seems that Lego is making one of the coolest come-back with the help from some cool designers…
